Minister of Health visits the Reuth TLV Rehabilitation Hospital

Minister of Health, Uriel Buso, arrived at Reuth TLV on March 19, 2024 for an introductory tour of the hospital. He was accompanied by Dr. Yaron Sachar, the Head of the Rehabilitation Department in the Ministry of Health and Mr. Uri Goldstein, Director of the Planning, Development, and Construction Administration in the Ministry of Health.

During the visit, the Minister learned about Reuth TLV’s plan to establish the largest rehabilitation center in Israel – a project that it is undertaking in partnership with the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and the Tel Aviv Foundation. He also heard about the hospital’s initiative to expand the availability of specialized rehabilitation services to soldiers and civilians suffering from post-trauma due to the events of October 7^th and the ensuing war.

During the visit, the Minister met with the director of the Reuth TLV Rehabilitation Hospital, Dr. Orit Stein Reisner, the CEO of Reuth, Mr. Ido Sharir, and the hospital’s management team. He was presented with a comprehensive overview of the hospital’s current activities and the planned construction project. Yoel Razvozov, Israel’s former Minister of Tourism also joined the tour.

While visiting Reuth TLV, the Minister had a chance to meet some of its patients, including Moshe Weizman, a United Hatzalah medic who was injured by a rocket in Sderot. The Minister heard Moshe’s heroic story and was impressed by the progress he is making in rehabilitation.

At the end of his visit, Minister Buso emphasized: “Reuth TLV’s plan to establish the largest rehabilitation center in Israel is a project of great national importance, especially now. In light of the thousands of wounded following October 7^th (hundreds of whom will require long-term rehabilitation), there is a critical need to strengthen the rehabilitation system in Israel”.

The new campus will increase the number of inpatient beds at Reuth TLV by at least 100, and will include an advanced imaging institute, ambulatory operating rooms, and other advanced rehabilitation services.

The Minister of Health also added, “Besides the new rehabilitation center, I also welcome Reuth TLV’s efforts to address the acute need of increasing the accessibility of physical and mental rehabilitation to those suffering from post-trauma due to the war.”
